Email Export Options (Changelog)

Due to the growing size of the database,? a user may wish to export only the wildcard email addresses as they significantly reduce redundancy of the list, making them easier to process into ban lists. This does however leave out some “bannable” email address domains that weren’t entered as wildcard domains. You can decide which list suits you best.

This option presents itself when you click Export: Emails in the menu.

Let me know what you think.

New Services!

We are pleased to announce two new FSpamlist.com services.

First of which is the RSS feed. Now have spammer data come straight to you!

Feed link: http://www.fspamlist.com/feed.php

Second, we have an XML API! Developers, feel free to use this simple API to write scripts to easily incorporate spammer checking into your programs

API LINK: http://www.fspamlist.com/xml.php

Use it like : http://www.fspamlist.com/xml.php?search=spammertocheckhere

and have this returned:

<IsSpammerRootNamespace>
<IsSpammer>True</IsSpammer>
</IsSpammerRootNamespace>

( Will either return True or False in the <IsSpammer> )

( Credit to Jay for this one 🙂 )

Downtime…

Please excuse the recent downtime if you visited recently enough to experience it. I am trying to move up to a better server with the same host, if you would like to help with this, please consider donating.

Site Updates, Changelog

Added a bulk search page where a user can obtain results on several suspected spammers at once. This is only v1 of this search and I already know what I am going to do for v2..

v2 will have better search capabilities matching your queries even better by splitting your email queries in two and running the two parts through the system (name@domain) to return partial matches. Also, I will provide you with a few possible results if you should happen to get a partial match.

Hope this helps!

P.S. We’ve passed the 10,000 spammer mark! Thanks to all who made this possible!

Things are moving along…

Wow, I haven’t talked of the project recently, maybe due to a lack of updates.. The only real update that I have made is the “Related Spammers” bit in which one can see any spammers with similar usernames in the e-mail address. The script only looks at the name, not the domain (name@domain.com) portion to find related spammers.

The forum is slowing growing www.fspamlist.com/forum

and the honeypot is coming along great… www.fspamlist.com/phpbb

To date there are 9558 uniquely identified spammers in the database! Thanks to all who are making this possible!

And thanks to everyone that is posting about this project on his/her websites and forums!

Oh, and I have started an ad program: I will advertise a banner for your site on the main page if you have contributed to the database. Read about it here.

Site Updates

Didn’t like how the site looked with the gradient.. I think I took it too far! But I have made a watermark background and returned the gray bar at the top… Keep it simple I say. It’s just a database. Any design ideas can be left in the comments section. Please help if you feel you can.

Updated a couple things on the site as well.. No search can be less than 3 characters, ’cause searching for “a” would bring up a lot of results..

Also, we are now a part of Project Honey Pot . Hopefully we can do some good.

Changelog, Register & Login

You can now register for the main site and login..

You can’t do much now.. but you will later.. on your user page, you can see your last 20 entries, as well as how many total names you have entered.

Also, when you are logged in….when you go to add some spam data.. the verification box is filled in for you. How nice…

Also, when you are logged in a add spam data.. on that spammer profile page, it will say it was added by you.

P.S. This functionality uses cookies.. They must be enabled and accepted from the site.

Site Updates, CSS

In the process of moving over the site to using CSS. I’ve experimented with it a little bit, hopefully I didn’t over-do it. And if you are using IE v6 or earlier, my transparent PNG image (logo) may not appear properly… I recommend you upgrade your browser.

So tell me what you think of the site’s new design.
